From 14th-18th September we organised an internal project workshop focused on the data acquisition challenges. The project workshop was organised as the collaboration of the InfoCoV project with the Cost Action COSTNET (Link na https://costnet.webhosting.rug.nl/).
Physicist and epidemiologist Andrzej Jarynowski from Interdisciplinary Research Institute, Wroclaw, Poland spent eight days as a visiting professor at the Department of Informatics from the 13th-20th September 2020. He was granted for this short term scientific mission titled “Eastern European perspective on the perception of COVID-19 and its epidemiological consequences with the focus on the communication in the Polish and Croatian social networks” within Cost Action COSTNET.
The main goal of this STSM is to start a collaboration aimed at studying Covid-19 related communication on Twitter. Our work plan involves the following: 1. Discussing and comparing Polish and Croatian datasets of labelled post/tweets/news; 2. Discussing and comparing temporal networks of retweeting/quoting/following networks on Polish and Croatian Twitter; 3. Discussing the epidemiological framework of information propagation in traditional and social media;
