Ana Meštrović is an associate professor at the Department of Informatics, University of Rijeka. She is head of the Chair for Network Systems at Department of Informatics and a member of Center for Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity, University of Rijeka. She received BSc degree in Mathematics and Informatics from the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, University of Rijeka in 2001. In 2005, she obtained MSc degree in information science from the Faculty of Organization and Informatics Varaždin, University of Zagreb. In 2009, she received a PhD degree in information science from the Faculty of Organization and Informatics Varaždin, University of Zagreb.
She is an author of more than 70 scientific papers relating to the domain of natural language processing and complex networks. In 2019, she received the 1st Knowledge Transfer Award from the University of Rijeka Foundation and company Alarm Automatika for the solution and implementation of the SyllAssit algorithm for the mobile application OmoReader.
Her research interest includes artificial intelligence in general, natural language, knowledge representation and networks analysis. She is an expert in various NLP tasks such as keywords detection, information extraction, text classification, etc.
